The project we had asked Derek and Shawn to bid on, and eventually do the work, was replacing just over 500 square feet of carpet and tile with new hardwood installation, lacing that in to existing hardwood floors, and then sanding, staining, and finishing all the existing and new hardwood for a seamless look. Our experience from project start to finish was outstanding, and the end result is even more stunning than we could have imagined!

Besides expressing how happy we are with the final result, we also want to highlight the experience working with Shawn, Derek, and the crew. Throughout the process, from the initial measurement and estimates to even after completion of the project, our questions were always clearly and promptly answered. Communication was professional, courteous, and friendly. Each day, we understood the work that had been completed, the work that was upcoming and planned, and any adjustments or modifications that needed to be discussed.

In addition, they gave detailed attention not to just with the hardwood flooring itself, but to other things such as hunting down and “de-squeaking” loose/misaligned parts of the subfloor, and shimming some missing underlayment in an adjacent bathroom (even though they were not installing flooring in that bathroom)! This is a company and team that is invested in customer satisfaction.

The Real Deal

Yes, Derek and Shawn are the “real deal!” True professional, honest craftsmen are hard to find these days, but these two fit the bill. We originally had them extend some hardwood flooring which we were very happy with, then had them back a year later when we decided to tackle a small renovation project that involved a wall and fireplace removal. They were able to beautifully blend the wood flooring of what was two rooms into one. We also had them repair some loose planks and gaps in our dining room flooring that had been installed by another company a few years ago, I wish I had known about River City earlier. If you want the job done right, give them a call!

Superior Service

We had River City Hardwood complete a renovation where they added white oak flooring to the living room, hallways and master bed room, tying into existing wood floor in the kitchen. From the moment they arrived to do the estimate, it was clear to us that these guys are craftsmen – the attention to detail and explanation of the process was incredible. We inquired about converting the stairs to oak treads and Derek worked with us to obtain the material so we could do that part of the installation ourselves. Communication about timeline and making adjustments to work with our schedule was never an issue. We had existing floor that had about 50% small knots and we wanted to keep that same look so Derek ordered a sample bundle so that we could estimate how much grade 1 and grade 2 to mix to keep the same look. During the installation-the consideration for keeping dust to a minimum was so appreciated. The floors look beautiful and I could not be more satisfied. I would recommend Derek and Shawn to everyone! The very last statement at the end of the project from Derek was “is there anything else we can do for you?” Such great customer service.

Fantastic service and gorgeous floors

Derek installed an engineered wood floor in my dining room and kitchen and I couldn’t be happier with the service or results! I previously had tile in both areas which desperately needed to be replaced. The new floors are gorgeous, so easy to maintain, and the install was flawless. Great attention to detail. Couldn’t be more happy!

Derek and Shawn came and did a stress free estimate and went over all of my options. I had a unique situation where I needed to fill an area with matching hardwood that was currently carpet in-between two sections of hardwood that was on either side. They laid out a plan and went to work. It matches perfectly and you would never know that the added section wasn’t there originally. Truly professionals, I try and recommend these guys to everyone I can!
